AFCAT 01/2026 Age Limit
Candidates must meet the age conditions as of 1 January 2027. The age limit is different for Flying Branch and Ground Duty posts. Candidates must ensure they fall within the required age range before applying.
Flying Branch (AFCAT & NCC Special Entry)
The age limit is between 20 to 24 years. Candidates holding a Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA may get additional relaxation.

AFCAT Educational Qualification 2026
The educational requirements differ for each branch. All candidates must have passed Mathematics and Physics at the 10+2 level with a minimum of 50% marks for Flying Branch and most technical posts.
Flying Branch
Candidates must have passed 10+2 with 50% in Maths and Physics, along with:
- A graduation degree with at least 60%
OR - A BE/B.Tech degree with 60% marks
Ground Duty Technical
Candidates must have:
- 10+2 with 60% in Maths & Physics
- A 4-year engineering degree in relevant fields
Ground Duty Non-Technical
For Administration:
- Graduation in any stream with at least 60% marks
For Accounts: - B.Com or related degree with 60%
For Education: - Post-graduate degree with 50% and graduation with 60%
AFCAT 01/2026 Selection Process
The selection process includes a written exam followed by multiple stages of assessment. Only candidates who qualify each stage will move to the next step.
1. Written Examination
This is the first stage and includes questions on English, General Awareness, Reasoning, and Numerical Ability.
2. Physical Standards & Efficiency Tests

3. AFSB Interview
Shortlisted candidates are called for the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) interview.
4. Medical Test
Medical fitness is compulsory for all branches.
